The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean Business Development and Consulting Institute (UCC BDCI) officially launched the Lightning Talks Finance Series on May 1, 2025, at the NovaMed Co-Working Hub, Summit Hotel, Kingston. Held in collaboration with AltCatalyst, Founder Institute Jamaica, and Catalyst/NovaMed, the afterwork event brought together financial experts, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in a dynamic session focused on improving access to finance for MSMEs and various enterprises.
This and continuing sessions featured presentations from key financial institutions, spotlighting innovative products and services tailored to support the unique needs of small and medium-sized businesses. The format allowed each speaker 30 minutes to present, followed by an interactive Q&A with attending entrepreneurs. Conversations tackled critical barriers to financing, the importance of digital tools, and strategies for empowering women in business.
