ABOUT UCC | BDCI

The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean’s Business Development and Consulting Institute (BDCI) is an entity formed as an operational unit of the institution. UCC BDCI is involved in community outreach and act as a link between the university and the private sector. UCC BDCI is a member of the Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) Network a nationwide initiative in collaboration with the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC). UCC BDCI is also part of the DBJ GEMINI Grant Program for growth and expansion of MSMEs through innovation and capacity building. UCC BDCI is a Business Development Organization (BDO).

UCC BDCI aspires to be known as a premier business development service organization in Jamaica and the Caribbean, contributing to the creation of a globally competitive platform for small and medium-sized businesses.

Our Mission

MSMEs can rely on UCC BDCI for business consulting and advisory services, training, and market and industry research. We are committed to providing MSMEs with high-quality business development support services at all stages of the entrepreneurial cycle. We create and implement strategies that increase capacity and help businesses achieve their goals and objectives. Finally, by advising, training, and conducting market research, we hope to assist businesses in becoming globally competitive.
