Tennille Howell-Hussey, Manager
Tennille Howell-Hussey served as the Business Development and Project Officer responsible for business advising, consulting, and critical project management for critical projects, and operational support for the Institute. Key roles include developing growth strategies, managing and retaining relationships with clients, increasing client base, negotiating with stakeholders, identifying business strengths and customer needs, and researching business opportunities and viable income streams.
Prior to joining UCC BDCI, Ms. Hussey served as the Project Administrator for the Jamaica Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) Project at Jamaica Business Development Corporation. She served as Corporate Account Manager with the Jamaica Franchise Dale Carnegie Training and FLOW in Barbados. She was also the Project Research Officer for the Sustainable Tourism Department at the Caribbean Tourism Organization on the ‘Caribbean Tourism and Health Safety and Environment Programme’ and Research Assistants Supervisor at the ports of entry for the Caribbean Tourism Organization programme with the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc and Tourism Product Authority. Prior to this, she was an Air traffic Controller in Barbados.
Ms Howell- Hussey has a multifaceted background and experience in project/programme development and implementation, office management, database and information management, learning and development, marketing, enterprise solutions, B2B development, stakeholder partnership management and negotiation skills.
Educational and training background includes being awarded a Master’s Degree in Tourism with Project Management from the University of West Indies Cave Hill Campus in 2015 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management specializing in Marketing from the University of West Indies Barbados in 2013. She is bilingual in Spanish and has been trained in a variety of areas, including event planning and organizing, business model development for business support organizations and high-impact presentations.
